Ingenuity. Photography and Engineering 1846-2006 is a catalogue published by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation on the occasion of two exhibitions of the same name, featuring the works of many artists, and includes one of Chip Hooper’s photographs, “Circles at the Ballroom”, 1996. The first exhibition was in Lisbon, February 9 – May 6, 2007 and the second at Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels, July 6 – September 9, 2007. The catalogue includes writings by Jorge Calado. Some of the other artists in the exhibit and catalogue include Berenice Abbott, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Edward Burtynsky, Paul Caponigro, Joel Meyerowitz, Richard Misrach, Edward Steichen, Alfred Stieglitz and Hiroshi Sugimoto.
